How long have you been playing disc golf?

I have been competing for about seven years.

How did you get your start in disc golf?

My brothers brought me out. I loved it, but didn't start playing regularly (and correctly) until I got together with my husband, Scotty.

What do you love most about the sport?

I love the inclusiveness and diversity of it.

What makes disc golf better than the other sports you have played?

Disc golf is great because anyone can play. It doesn't take a lot of money, you don't have to be a world class athlete, you don't even have to be good to enjoy it, because it's a very social sport.

How do you approach a new course?

Conservatively! Also, with excitement. Getting to play new courses is one of my absolute favorite things to do.

What motivates you to continually improve your game?

Feedback from the people keeping up with my progress. I have such amazing support and so many people rooting for me, my husband most of all. I like to make him proud.

What do you do to stay focused playing in tourneys?

I don't ever know anyone's scores, including my own. Ultimately, your goal should be to execute each shot to the best of your ability, and the scores shouldn't really change what you do, in a perfect world. But that is easier said than done.

What’s your most memorable win?

My most memorable win was the first Big Thicket Open. It was a local tournament, and Scotty was a big part of it, so it was really nice to be able to bring home that trophy.

What’s your most memorable disc golf moment?

I was on the lead card after playing really well at Texas States in 2017. We had a sizeable gallery, and I was on the card with Paige Pierce, Catrina Allen, and Lisa Fajkus. I had a great drive on a par 4. I threw my second shot, and it went in for eagle! Everyone went wild, and I was in disbelief. It was such a fun moment.

What are your top three favorite discs?

Meteor, Vulture, and Focus

What are your top three courses you have played?

This is so hard. In no particular order: Evergreen Flyways, Disc Side of Heaven, Harry Myers, and Peter Pan Park.

If you could play any course in the world, which would it be?

I want to play Fountain Hills, and I will eventually. I would also like to try a course somewhere in the mountains. I might be terrible on it because it is completely flat where I live, but it would be a fun experience!

Who is your disc golf hero, and how were you influenced be him or her?

I don't really have a hero, but I really admire all of the touring FPO players. They have mad skills and are all great to play with!

What’s in the bag?

The Vulture is pretty much my go to. The Z Force is my wind disc. For distance, I throw a Z Lite Nuke. The Meteor of course. I throw the Zone and Challenger OS, and I putt with the Focus. There are several other discs in my bag that I throw, but these are the main ones I reach for.

What non-disc golf hobbies do you have?

Reading has been a hobby that I have had my whole life. I have a lot of books, and I have a library in my house.

What does #NoBadRounds mean to you?

Even when you are playing bad, you can still have fun, making it a good round! I struggle with this during tournaments but can pull it off in casual rounds.

What do you love most about your FlighTowel?

I love the ingenuity of it! The first time I saw one, I really wanted to be a part of introducing people to it. I show it off to everyone!

Is there anything else you would like to add to your Team FlighTowel profile?

I love interacting with golfers from all over, so don't ever be too shy to hit me up on social media with any questions, or even if you just want to chat about your disc golf experience!
